The alarm woke you up. You open your eyes slowly and turn it off. Your mouth tastes bad. You're groggy and your separation from your warm and cozy bed is probably the hardest of all, but you suck it up and face it every single day like everybody else. You go to the wc, have a pee, brush your teeth. Awake yet? Not quite. You're not thinking. You take your clothes off and observe yourself as you came to the world for a moment. After staring at your body you shower as soon as possible, as to not go back to bed. At this point, you're pretty much awake. You get dressed and go to wherever you have to. School, college, work.
You enjail yourself because it's necessary. You have to go to class in order to learn the things necessary to go to college, to learn the things necessary to have a decent job.All of them involve being tied to a room for hours listening to something the teacher or the boss has to tell, and doing what they order you to do. Then you go back home and cope with your other responsibilities. You do what your mum, dad, husband, or siblings need you to do, or what your teachers or boss told you to do. Not only do you have to see them every day, but you also have to take orders from them when at last you're back home and you intended to disconnect from everything involving that environment. Laundry, cooking, papers, investigations, homework, studying, tidying, and what not. Only pleasurable thing in that ever growing list of things to do, is to eat.
After another long, sucky day of this sucky, silly life, you go to bed tired and close your eyes. You're finally going to sleep and deep down you rejoice in that, because you're not dead, but at least you get to run away from everything you're aware of, even if it's just for a couple of hours. Before you know it, you're on very familiar place from your childhood. A house, a cabin, a pool, an open field, a restaurant, a lake, a forest .By yourself. Until you turn away and see your idol, or the person that makes your heart skip a beat every day. They look at you and... is that a smile? You run towards them as fast as possible, but the distance, at short as it seemed, is way longer than you thought, and you're running in slow motion. Your idol seems unreachable and you end up crying with desperation. The person you admire comes around and give you the most comforting hug, and now you're crying with happiness.
The scenery fades away, along with the much appreciated person. You feel empty because you wanted that moment to last longer. Now you're on the top of a really tall building. You don't want to fall down, but the harder you think about not falling, the most likely it is that you will fall. You feel the air against your face, your legs feel funny, and you expect your death. You landed on a soft surface. Even if it was concrete waiting for you, it would not be painful. But this time you opened your eyes and found yourself under water. You feel like you'll run out of air, but then you find out you can actually breathe and nothing will happen. You're looking for the surface but you feel everything spinning around you, or is it you spinning? The scenery changes again. You're on a sunny, open field with mountains, and you had never felt that free. You run wherever you want, screaming whatever you want. You feel so happy that you take a jump and start flying. You can see your shadow on the ground, soaring as fast as you can, over the mountains that were once the background, now you're flying over them, appreciating every detail. The air feels cool and you are touching the clouds as you fly by them. You land eventually and find your favourite foods on a table. Now you hear a very annoying sound you can't find anywhere, so you can't stop it. You can feel everything fading away, and at this point, there's no stopping everything to disappear into blackness. You open your eyes and realize you were asleep. You go turn off the sound that didn't let you have those appetizing delicacies, annoyed by it, because you know nothing you'll have for breakfast will look like what you saw in your dream. As you go to the bathroom, you secretly wish what you just lived, even if it was just in your brain, was your actual waking life.
